Vultures in Little Trucks

Our weather honeymoon ended with a true winter storm on Thursday, January 12. Everyone had their reason for enjoying the unseasonably warm weather. My favorite was that the warm weather was sticking it to the private snow plow drivers.

Any one that has ever snapped two Lego’s together and now owns a truck has mounted a snow plow on the front. These guys cannot wait to exploit everyone else’s misery of being buried in the snow. Right after the storm a fleet of snow buzzards emerged like flies.

I followed one truck with its blade up of course east on Central. Both of us were sliding from the new fallen snow and ice on the road. Did it ever occur to the driver to just put the blade down and plow the road ahead for both of us? He was driving that way anyway. No, not being paid for it, nothing for the greater good here.

If it is going to snow then let’s have the Big One. So I can at least derive some perverse pleasure from the storm. That is when I see those little trucks with plows stuck in a parking lot.
